Prabowo Accompanied by Foreign Minister, Higher Education Minister and Cabinet Secretary Teddy at BRICS Summit in India

Indonesia’s President Prabowo Subianto is attending the BRICS Summit in India, accompanied by several of his ministers. According to a statement from the Presidential Secretariat on Saturday (September 12, 2026), Prabowo is being accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Minister of Investment and Industrial Downstreaming Rosan Roeslani, Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
The Indonesian delegation arrived at Air Force Station (AFS) Palam, New Delhi, India, on Friday (September 11, 2026) at 10:00 PM local time.
At the airport, President Prabowo was welcomed by India’s Minister of State for Coal and Mines Shri Satish Chandra Dubey, the Chargé d’Affaires ad Interim (KUAI) of the Indonesian Embassy in New Delhi Yudho Sasongko, the Indonesian Defense Attaché to India Brigadier General (Mar) Burhanudin, AFS Palam Station Commander Brigadier General Rishabh Mittal and the Additional Secretary (South) of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, Prashant Agrawal.
President Prabowo was greeted with a guard of honor formation as well as traditional Indian cultural performances and dances. “President Prabowo’s presence at the 18th BRICS Summit as a full member is part of Indonesia’s move to strengthen its active role in multilateral cooperation,” according to the Presidential Secretariat’s statement.
The Presidential Secretariat noted that this participation reflects Indonesia’s commitment to fostering a global economic order that is more balanced and inclusive, and one that provides greater space for developing nations. The BRICS Summit strengthens cooperation among developing nations. At the 18th BRICS Summit held in India, leaders of member nations will discuss a range of strategic agenda items aimed at bolstering cooperation among developing countries.
The meeting is also expected to drive concrete measures to strengthen collaboration in the areas of food, energy, development finance and trade.
The event is being attended by various national leaders, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, Philippine President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., and South African President Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa. Also in attendance are United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, World Trade Organization (WTO) Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, New Development Bank (NDB) President Dilma Rousseff, and Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank President Zou Jiayi.
