Indonesia’s New Finance Minister Suahasil: Government’s Budget Must Be Healthy to Support Priority Programs, Tempo

Indonesia’s newly minted Finance Minister Suahasil Nazara has pledged to maintain a healthy and credible government budget to support the priority programs of President Prabowo Subianto’s government.
Emphasizing fiscal discipline and efficiency, Suahasil confirmed that the budget deficit will remain below the three percent ceiling while maximizing the economic utility of public spending.
According to Bloomberg and Central Java’s leading masthead Suara Merdeka, former Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has offered his own explanation for his surprise dismissal this week.
Purbaya said a sweeping personnel reshuffle had stirred friction inside his ministry, reports Bloomberg.
