Titiek Soeharto Joins Prabowo-Gibran’s Campaign as Advisor, Minister Luhut’s Nephew Appointed Treasurer

JAKARTA — Former wife of Gerindra Party chair Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Prabowo Subianto and daughter of Indonesia’s former President Soeharto Ms. Titiek Soeharto has taken a role in the national campaign team of presidential hopeful Mr. Prabowo and his running mate Mr. Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

Ms. Titiek Soeharto’s involvement places her on the Advisory Board of the Prabowo-Gibran campaign team, as announced by campaign team1 Secretary Mr. Nusron Wahid2 at the presentation of the structure of the campaign team at the Grand Kemang Hotel in South Jakarta on Monday, November 6, 2023.

As well as Ms. Titiek, Mr. Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono (Ibas)3, son of the sixth president of Indonesia Mr. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, has also joined the Prabowo-Gibran campaign team as an advisor.

On the list of the Prabowo-Gibran campaign team treasurers, Coordinating Minister for Maritime and Investment Affairs Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Mr. Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan’s nephew Mr. Pandu Patria Sjahrir4 finds his name in the list.

  4. Pandu Patria Sjahrir came into the spotlight after being appointed as a Commissioner of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI). Known more widely as the Chairman of the Indonesian Mining Association (APBI) for the 2018-2021 term. In the mining industry, Pandu is recognized as a coal entrepreneur. He also serves as an executive at PT Toba Bara Sejahtra Tbk (TOBA), a company often associated with Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment and his uncle.
    According to TOBA’s official website as of June 30, 2020, Pandu was born in the USA on May 17, 1979, and his current residence is Jakarta. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Chicago and a Master of Business Administration from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
    Before joining PT Toba Bara Sejahtra Tbk, Pandu had a career as a Senior Analyst specializing in the energy and mining sector at Matlin & Patterson from 2007 to 2010. His career continued as a Principal at Byun & Co, Alternative Energy Fund Asia (2002–2005), and as an Analyst at Lehman Brothers (2001-2002).
    At TOBA, Pandu was first appointed as a company Director on October 1, 2010. He is also listed as a Director of PT Adimitra Baratama Nusantara, which is still affiliated with TOBA. Pandu is the son of economist and former politician Mr. Sjahrir who served as a member of the President’s Advisory Council in the economic field.
    Regarding his recent role at BEI, Pandu stated that the current state of the stock exchange presents many challenges. “We have to gain the trust of stakeholders. We also need to increase both the demand-quantity of new investors and the supply of new companies with the target of outliers,” he said, as reported by Kontan magazine. ↩︎

Gautama spent a significant part of his military career in intelligence.
